Forced migration and digital connectivity in (to) Europe – published in Social Media + Society


Sage Publishing is offering a special collection on forced migrants and digital connectivity, edited by Koen Leurs and Kevin Smets. In the introductory essay written by the editors, important questions are raised, and digital migration is elaborated as a developing field of research.

The collection consist of 14 pieces authored by 27 collaborators. There are 10 original  research papers, as well as 3 thematic book reviews that include a Q&A dialogue with the authors of the review books. Digital migration emerged as a topic during the recent so-called “European refugee crisis”. This collection reflects on the impact of digital technologies on forced migration.
