A key concept in the ReGap project is storytelling, arguing that digital stories, featuring refugees and migrants and used wisely and in context, may contribute to a feeling of social inclusion. This is supported by an American study (Kizilcec et al., 2017) of massive open online courses (MOOCs), who found that the completion rate in online courses increases when learners experience some kind of social identity. However, refugees and migrants are not a homogenous group, and ReGap want to reach as many as possible. We have therefore carefully put together representatives for the target group in the course portfolio. One example is from the Introduction course, which starts with a video were we meet quite different people from many countries and continents, telling their stories. The only thing they have in common is that they all now live in a host country. The video is 5 minutes long.
